Final Animation 1 (Walk Cycle)

For the first animation i wanted to make, i decided to make a simple walk cycle with some extra movement with the legs and jiggle.

Blender/Maya use cases

I first made a block out animation using blender due to Maya crashing. Using the Blender block out i remade the animation using Mayas tools to make a better animation as Maya’s tools are superior animation wise. However, due to time constraints due to Maya’s crashing i decided to send the bone animation data back to Blender using FBX files and retargeting the bone structure to my blender rig. Blenders rendering pipeline is less quality but it produces frames at a much faster pace.

The perspective isn’t perfect but it is the same frame. I had to do some tweaks to the animation in blender such as the mouth from feedback i had gotten in weeks prior.

What went well?

I felt like the movement of the T-rex felt very smooth and fluid as i would imagine a T-rex walking would be like. However, i felt like i did do a good job of showing the weight of the T-rex with how the legs movement and how the body reacts to lifting one foot up for the other to take all the weight.
